Square Taper, Hollowtech or Octalink

Within a standard 68mm or 70mm or 73mm BSA threaded bottom bracket shell, there are currently three main types of crank: Square taper, Hollowtech and Octalink. All cranksets currently sold by Shimano are one of those three types.

In theory crank type is determined by BB Shell which is part of the framex.
