These are some notes as to how to use the search systems in various online databases. When you go to a given store such as West Point or Bike Doctor, and try to look and see what wheels they have, it is difficult. They often have search functions but they are difficult to use. This document has my notes on how to struggle through their search systems. See Wheel Lister
2. Bike Doctor
You must search for "wheels". Can't search for "bike wheels" because it matches "bike". The search matches any word in the search term.
- can also search for "Alex": Comes up with 11 wheels with a wheel image, 1 wheel just showing the rim, and then matches anything that matches "Apex" (it must vary each letter)
4. HLC (Lambert)
"The Wheel Shop" is one of the Canadian distributors (HLC - formerly just called Lambert) kind of house brand for wheels they build and supply. And they list 277 current available items.
Yes, it is a pain searching for what is available for different parts. Best way I have found is check with the largest retailers - online is easiest of course and they generally have filters to narrow down what you are looking for. IE - go to "Cassettes", choose the option for "9 Speed" and list by price. You can likely choose "Manufacturer" as well. Different places will have different listings / available stock. Best check a few. A lot of overseas places still list Shimano and SRAM components even though they won't sell them to Canada.
